Researchers have found that the main active ingredient in marijuana - tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC- show promise as antibacterial agents particularly against microbial strains that are already drug resistant. Cannabis Sativa (marijuana) has been known to have antibacterial properties for decades. Current research suggests nonpsyhcotropic (no psychic powers! :D) cannabis would be in use in the near future.

The question is: Will it actually be used?
I really don't see a point in banning drugs..when there's a will there's a way. Right? No, I'm not saying you should smoke, too! My psychiatry professor admitted to smoking pot told us to smoke while we're young and he'll hook us up if we want. The thing is..he was serious. lol.
dude! I just read about that molecular compound in my orgo book!!! whoa!
i will never understand the stigma against marijuana. SURE, everything must be in moderation and too much of it is bad, but it truly can help us in so many ways. i believe that doctors who prescribe it should however recommend to patient to eat or drink the drug (like in tea, brownies, etc) because smoking anything can be harmful to the lungs. new uses are coming up all the time.
but the thing i can't understand more than anything is, why don't we increase the use of HEMP for different products? hemp does not contain any thc,and does not having anything to do with getting "stoned". it would solve so many problems in our economy, ESPECIALLY the energy crisis. did you guys know that the first Ford cars ran purely on hemp oil? they were also made out of hemp plastic which is stronger than steel! the hydrocarbon makeup of hemp oil is perfect for burning for energy.. its way more efficient than petroleum and easy to grow. would help the agriculture industry. also solves the food issuew with corn.
and yet... no one talks about this because its taboo. ridiculous, eh?
hayyy
In seeing a loved one try prescription drugs and the HORRIBLE side effects, and then switching to medical marijuana, the pot was much less psychotic. However, I will never promote marijuana as being the "answer". There are [some times] permanent side effects to the brain such as slow communication between nuerons (dumb dumb), paranoia (everything's a conspiracy), and hypochondria.
I pray that with time, these effects will go away.
I will however, seeing first hand, never promote prescription meds before pot. I just hate pot when used as a crutch too.
Contridicting, maybe, but this subject infuriates me because it's a double-edged sword.
