Brother C: Hey CC how come Dad's side of the family is all tall and Mom's side isn't? How can I become tall?
Me: You can't really. It's in your genes.
Brother C: What?
Me: It's in your genes.
Brother C: ... Noo.......Really?!!
Me: ...Yeah your genes control whether you're tall or short.
(pause)..............................................
Brother C: NO WAY! It's like In our DENIM?!
Me: .....what? (of course it's my turn to say what)
Brother C: (stares down at his JEANS) HOW?!
Me: .........................

My brother C was like 8 or 9 when this convo took place. It was so funny that I wrote it down and saved it to send it to Reader's Digest (don't ask) AND I just found it the other day.
So yes it is real.
OMG Reader's Digest! I used to read that when I was a kid..or at least look at all the titles and pictures.
